It is with great pleasure that we report the top priced bull at the recently concluded National Shorthorn Show & Sale held at Dubbo was Meadow Vale Ultimate (Australian Shorthorns) bred by Bev & Robyn Harris of the Meadow Vale stud, Clarkefield (first time vendor).

A son of Polldale Neat N38 (himself a Division champion at the 2019 sale and purchased by the Malton stud, Finley) Ultimate was purchased for $28,000 by the Williams family (Dubbo) and Calmara Shorthorns (Toongi NSW).
A per entry requirements Ultimate satisfied the genotyping sequences for PV (parent verification, myostatin, Poll/Horn, and Bovine Versa 50K) conducted by Weatherbys Scientific Australia.

Other Australian Shorthorns members to present bulls for sale at Dubbo this year were Roly Park (Scott Bruton), North Eastern Shorthorns, Tasmania (Carolynn Evans), Tipperary Shorthorns (J&Q Schneider) and Spencer Family (D&M Spencer).

Bulls sold to six states and two major volume buyers purchased 25 bulls between them.  77/109 bulls were sold and averaged $8766;  5/7 females sold to $6500 and averaged $5300.  A single PTIC recipient sold for $6000, 1 embryo package sold for $80 per straw.

Congratulations to all concerned.
